“I was proud” – Olivier Ntcham on His Famous Celtic Goal

OLIVIER NTCHAM has spoked to this weeks Celtic View about the goal which sealed a historic victory inside the Stadio Olimpico.

It has been a week since the Frenchman coolly placed the ball into the back of the net in the dying seconds of the game to put Celtic ahead 2-1 on the night.

The goal was celebrated wildly by the support inside the stadium and back home – the fans could hardly believe it.

The bhoys made waves with their victory against the Serie A side but it was Ntcham’s ability under pressure that made it all possible.

Getting a pass from his countryman Odsonne Edouard, the midfielder took the ball a little wider than he would’ve wanted but it drew the goalkeeper out of his goals and from there, Ntcham seen his opportunity to dink the ball into the back of the net. Speaking about it now, Olivier said it all happened so fast.

“Before I came on, the manager said to me, try to defend a little bit, press when possible and when we get the ball try to forward and keep the ball.

“It was difficult but it happened too quickly to explain.

“I was proud of my finishing in the game.

“Winning in Italy, breaking a record – that’s great news for everybody involved in the club.”
