Revealed: Celtic’s Provisional Squad – Injury Confirmed and Duo Set for Return

Celtic’s provisional squad for the game against Motherwell this afternoon has been confirmed ahead of the 3pm kick off and there could be a number of returns to the starting XI.

Mikey Johnston was on the bench for the semi-final against Hibernian a week ago and could find himself back in the thick of it, especially when Mohamed Elyounoussi put in an energy zapping performance in against Lazio just three days ago. The winger was so out on his feet by the end he couldn’t even run over to celebrate the winning goal!

Leigh Griffiths is back in the squad but with any provisional squad, players can be cut before the official team line goes in.

The return of Leigh can’t be far off and he’ll have no doubt been annoying Neil Lennon all week about getting a game.

Frimpong looks likely to come straight back into the side after being ineligible for the Europa League game. Elhamed not being in the side confirms his injury.

Here is the full provisional squad as confirmed by RedordSport:

  • Forster
  • Frimpong
  • Bauer
  • Ajer
  • Bolingoli
  • Jullien
  • Rogic
  • Bitton
  • Brown
  • McGregor
  • Ntcham
  • Forrest
  • Edouard
  • Christie
  • Hayes
  • Morgan
  • Johnston
  • Griffiths
