Too Late – Celtic Midfielder Heading for Early Parkhead Exit?

It has nearly been 18 months since Celtic declares they had signed the youngest player at the 2018 World Cup, Daniel Arzani.

The little Australian had made history that summer and then a move to Celtic via Manchester City came about very quickly. Brendan Rodgers brought the player in with the hope of developing Daniel.

Rodgers kept the Socceroo in the developmental side to start with – not rushing Arzani, knowing he was on a two-year loan deal. When he finally did get his chance it was away to Dundee and as the player looked to make his mark disaster struck and he tore his ACL – his season was over.

Daniel has been rehabbing for a year and has also been training with the first team since the start of this season. There’s still no sign the player is going to get any game time at this point.

Celtic have a heavy fixture list but looking down the line – barring a spate of injuries – we just don’t see when Neil Lennon would look to bring the player in from the cold.

Could Manchester City and Celtic cur their losses in January and let Daniel go to get game time somewhere else.

It’s a shame because the bhoy looks like a talent. If you ask Neil Lennon though, I think he’d rather focus on players who are here on a permanent basis.
