BBC Man Backtracks After Misguided Celtic Tweet Goes Wrong

CHRIS MCLAUGHLIN took to social media last night after he received a barrage of abuse for the way he described fascist dictator Mussolini after Celtic were charged by UEFA over illicit chanting and banners in the game against Lazio.

The Celtic fans sent a message to the extreme right-wing supporters of the Italian club who were seen walking through Glasgow displaying nazi salutes and chanting before the game.

When the charge came through from UEFA the BBC man described Mussolini as an ‘Italian Wartime leader’. Technically he’s correct but that must be the kindest way Mussolini has been described on social media without a right-wing nut job doing the talking.

There were plenty of people on hand to give the sports journalist a history lesson on why the description ‘Italian wartime leader’ was way down the list of things to describe the evil dictator.

Celtic fans delivered and anti-fascist message against Lazio in the Europa League and to see us in the dock for that is very poor.
