UEFA Appoint Bulgaria/England Racism Storm Ref for Parkhead Tie

Croatian whistler Ivan Bebek, the man who stopped the recent match between Bulgaria and England over the racial abuse Raheem Sterling was receiving will take charge of Celtic’s tie against Lazio on Thursday UEFA have announced.

The referee obviously not shirking from his responsibility to look after the best interests of the players during a game. The Croatian now finds himself refereeing Lazio who have just been found guilty of racist behaviour during their match against Rennes at home.

The Italian club believe a minority are behind the racist chanting and are hoping that the behaviour doesn’t rear its ugly head at Celtic Park. They will now know if there’s anything pronounced coming from the stands the referee could and should take action.

Celtic fans would likely drown any of these supporters out and make sure they don’t have their voices heard on the night.

The game is scheduled for an 8pm kick off on Thursday.
