‘The Club Does Not Want It’ Celtic Send Strongly Worded Statement To Supporters

CELTIC have today got out with a very strong statement against the use of pyro at Celtic games after it’s led to another charge for the club.

UEFA confirmed the charge from the Cluj game on match day two of the Europa League with the fans group The Green Brigade creating an incredible display which was given an exclamation mark with the controlled use of pyro.

However they’re used doesn’t matter to UEFA and Celtic have made that clear in today’s statement. The club says they and the vast majority of supporters do not want it.

The club will have to be seen to taking firm action against supporters who use pyro at the games or feel the wrath of Europe’s governing body. Celtic have already been fined once this term.

Is it time to bin the pyro even if used in a creative way to stop incurring finds from UEFA.

Some Celtic Fans will never bow to UEFA rules especially when you look at the fine the club received for waving Palestine flags against Israeli opponents. The Green Brigade raised a massive amount of money for Palestinian aid in the aftermath of that particular UEFA fine.

The use of pyro is pretty cut and dry and leaves no room for error. If you use it – the club will incur penalties. Whether that be monetary or closing a stand at one point.
