Released in the Summer – Celtic Flop Still Hasn’t Found a New Club

Not much was made of it at the time as Youssouf Mulumbu was mentioned on a list of players who had left the club this summer. A strange signing just over a year ago when Brendan Rodgers and Lee Congerton couldn’t get anyone in to help fill the void Broony had left being out with injury.

Mulumbu signed a two-year deal with Celtic but it was cut short just after one – the club must have reached a deal for Youssouf to leave early and find another club.

During his time at Celtic he made THREE appearances; playing a total of 155minutes for the bhoys in green.

Loaned back out to Kilmarnock six months after he left the Rugby Park side, many thought the midfielder would resurface in a Killie shirt this season but it hasn’t been the case.

The player hasn’t surfaced anywhere to this point.

Usually one for having a laugh on social media the player has also gone quiet on that front with his last post coming in July when he was on international duty. The 32-year-old hasn’t signalled he has retired and it’s interesting to see he still is without a club.

Surely someone has space for the defensive midfielder. He was a poor fit for Celtic and brought in for the sake of it. A less than astute piece of business by Brendan Rodgers and Lee Congerton.
