MICHAEL STEWART would have not won many Ibrox fans over on Monday night when he was asked about who he would rather have in his side.

The former pro did try and be diplomatic as possible but used words like ‘classy’ when it came to Edouard while the best Morelos got was ‘unorthodox’.

The faux debate that continues to go on is pretty amusing – there’s only one of these men who have delivered silverware for the club when their back has been against the wall and that’s what Stewart ended up going too.

Edouard comes up big for Celtic on the big occasions again and again. The Ibrox support know that more than most – although they don’t like to admit it.

“It’s a tough question. When you look at what Rangers are doing with Morelos and Jermain Defoe, there’s a rotation of the players.” Stewart told BBC Radio.

“And I think that if you were looking at Odsonne Edouard and Alfredo Morelos and having to pick one, I think it would probably depend on what game.

“Morelos is a bit more unorthodox, he’s all action.

“Edouard, I think is continuing to develop and look quite classy.

“If it was a Scottish Cup Final, and I was to pick one, I think I would probably just go with Odsonne Edouard at the moment.

“Edouard has come up in big games. Morelos, against Celtic, he’s not really done the business yet in those bigger games.

“Granted, in Europe he’s still scored some pretty good goals for Rangers.”But if it’s a Scottish Cup Final and I was picking one, I would marginally go for Odsonne Edouard.”

Celtic have got a player who will go for big money in the next year or two – Morelos continues to be the subject of phantom bids from unknown Chinese clubs in an attempt to put him on a par with the Celtic striker.
