Fraser Forster Makes Telling Ibrox Admission

FRASER FORSTER has spoken of his surprise after Celtic’s win at Ibrox on Sunday. Not because Celtic won but more to do with him not having much to do.

Forster has been to Ibrox before playing the last side who used to occupy the place and knows it can be very hostile and frantic in front of goal. However, the goalkeeper hailed a fantastic result and his defenders for helping to keep him quiet for long periods of the game.

“It was a fantastic result, all the lads can be proud of their performances. I didn’t expect it to be as quiet for me but it was a credit to the back four.” Forster told SunSport.

“At the end, we were playing with four Old Firm debutants. They were fantastic, Christopher Jullien was fantastic in front of me. He’s a big guy. I think he headed everything and looked really good. I thought he was brilliant.

“The whole team did well. Everyone did their jobs. You can make it as hard as you want or as easy as you want and we were right at it. We did really well.”

Not only did the defence keep Fraser Forster quiet but also the crowd. For long periods of the game, there was a weird atmosphere where you could just hear chatter like you would in an overcrowded pub rather than a football game. Celtic controlling the game and stopping the home side from making chances was certainly keeping the crowd quiet.

This has a lot to do with Celtic’s allocation being cut. With only 750 away fans in the crowd instead of 7000, the noise wasn’t what it could’ve been. Simply put, if 7000 Celtic fans were singing you would have probably got a reaction from the rest of Ibrox. As it happened, Celtic fans had a party in the corner while their fans watched on in horror.
