Neil Lennon Shuts Down Talk of £15m Celtic Sale

NEIL LENNON has shrugged off any suggestion Celtic are set to sell Kristoffer Ajer and even let it be known a £15m bid for their young defender wouldn’t even cut it.

There was a tenuous transfer link between AC Milan and Celtic on Friday but when asked about any interest the Celtic manager put it to bed by confirming there had been no approach and they weren’t entertaining any offers, even when £15m was brought up.

“£15million? I’d value Kris a lot higher than that.” he told CelticTV.

“He has more to come, and I don’t think £15m would cut it, not that we are entertaining any offers. There’s been no contact from Milan.

On the subject of his other centre-half who has also been linked with a move away, the Celtic manager was also quick to say he wants to keep Jozo at the club too.

“I’d prefer to keep Jozo full stop. I’m a big fan. There’s been speculation about him, but we are not entertaining offers.

“Jozo has been superb for me. Ideally, I’d like him to be in the building at the end of August.”

Ajer and Jozo made a formidable partnership in the latter part of last season. Boyata was injured and when Benkovic got fit from an injury he couldn’t get back in the side.

With Jullien in the squad now, Jozo appears the more likely to sit on the bench a bit more but Celtic know how fragile their defence can be with injuries and they need top reinforcements. To sell either would be a big blow.
