Scott Sinclair Celtic Future – Update

Neil Lennon admitted Scott Sinclair is going through a difficult period at the moment but expects the player to kick on.

The Englishman didn’t even get into the starting XI of a makeshift side in Estonia on Tuesday night and has been used as a sub more often than not by Neil Lennon.

Celtic triggered the player’s contract clause to keep him at Celtic for another season but the sceptics out there believe this may have been don’t so the player doesn’t leave for nothing this summer.

Asked if there was a chance the treble treble champion could be sold, the Celtic manager said he’d like to keep Sinclair around.

Speaking to SunSport, Lennon said.

“It’s just a little difficult period for Scott, but it’s still so early.

““A player of that experience is always handy to have around, he’s got a great goal record and he’s had a great time at Celtic.

“We don’t want him to go, that’s for sure.”

If the midfielder is going to play a diminished role, he may not want to stay.

Having been used so often by Brendan Rodgers during his time at the club, this is new territory for the 30-year-old.
