NEIL LENNON has decided to take the high road after comments coming out of Ibrox that they are by far the better side in the SPFL.
New Ibrox signing Sheyi Ojo made the comments ahead of the league openers this weekend. The winger joins a less than illustrious list of Ibrox players over the years who have come in and talked a big game.
The player comes in with no prior knowledge of Scottish football, clearly.
Asked about the comments, Neil Lennon shrugged them off and wonders what Ojo basis his statement on.
Considering Celtic have won every trophy domestically for the past three seasons, it’s a crazy comment by Ojo who wasn’t challenged about his opinion at any point.
“I don’t know what it’s based on, but he is entitled to his opinion. It just washes over us. We are here to play in the Champions League.” he told CelticTV.
“I don’t think our players have to justify themselves in any way, shape or form. To be fair to them, over the last few years they’ve done that very well.”
Celtic unfurl the league flag on Saturday afternoon when St Johnstone come to town and will want to lay down a marker for the season.
