Speaking at his pre-match press conference before his side’s second leg match vs Kalju on Tuesday night, the Celtic boss gave the fans some bad news on the transfer front.
It was only last week, Lennon claimed they looked very close to signing another right back after Hatem Elhamed had been signed but refused to name the player.
A week later he was again asked about if the deal was close to completion for the unnamed player but the Celtic manager delivered the bad news.
“That has stalled, so we may have to look elsewhere.” he told CelticTV.
On the new player front in general, the Celtic gaffer still believes it’s possible to get a couple of new faces in before the next round of qualifiers starting next week.
He said: “We will discuss that when we get back on Wednesday, it would be great if we could.
“And we will try and get one or two in before the next tie if we qualify, which we should do, for next week.”
Celtic will take on Kalju in what should be a routine match before either taking on Cluj or Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the next round. Hatem Elhamed would be eligible to be registered for that game.
