Mikael Lustig Sets Record Straight Over ‘Celtic Fan’ Brendan Rodgers

MIKAEL LUSTIG has been talking about his time at Celtic and who was the best manager for him during his eight year stint at Celtic Park.

Lustig played under Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers as he helped the bhoys to eight in a row.

Speaking to Sports Football magazine, the defender confirmed what manager he enjoyed playing under the most.

“In terms of managers, Neil Lennon persuaded me to move to Celtic so he is the most important coach for me.

“Tactically, the best was Brendan Rodgers. He was a true perfectionist.

The contrast between Lustig’s thoughts on Brendan as a manager and what he done to Celtic back in February is very contrasting.

The Swede even went as far as calling out the former Celtic boss out on his claim to Celtic fandom because of the way he left the club.

“I only regret that he left the way he did. When you say you are a fan of Celtic you do not quit the club in February.

“I do not approve of his choice and he knows it.”

Mikael cut his ties with the club this summer after failing to come to terms on a new deal. The defender moves to Genk where he signed a three-year deal with the Belgian outfit.

Lustig is certainly a Celtic fan.
