Not long after we called out Sky Sports for their arrogant and assumptive reporting when it came to Kieran Tierney, they are at it again!
This lunchtime they are reporting a deal is “almost complete” for Arsenal to take Kieran Tierney from Celtic. However, the same report confirms no agreement has been reached between the clubs never mind the player. How you can report it’s almost complete and say that in the same sentence is breathtaking arrogance again by the English based media.
Sky Sports believed Celtic and Kieran Tierney would have jumped when Arsenal snapped their fingers this summer but that’s been anything but the case.
Again, what we’re seeing here is a continuation of the arrogance with a report based on assumptions that Arsenal will be able to sweet-talk their way to a deal or Celtic will fold and take the money on offer nearer the transfer deadline.
Football Scotland cited the SkySports report which wrote:
“Sky Sports are today saying the clubs are only “a couple of million pounds apart” and the deal is “almost complete”.
So, yes, the deal is almost complete – apart from the fee, his wages and a medical.
My deal to Celtic is almost complete in that case.
