Celtic Midfielder Rules Himself Out of Celtic’s Champions League Opener

Celtic midfielder Daniel Arzani has ruled himself out of the first tie between Celtic and FK Sarajevo after the clubs were drawn together in the first round of Champions League qualifiers.

Arzani, who has been recovering from an ACL injury for the past eight months admitted he won’t make the tie for the first leg but will hopefully be available for the second leg.

The Australian only played a handful of minutes for Celtic when on his debut at Dundee a freak accident caused his ACL to tear. The young man has been in rehab since and is looking to have a big season under Neil Lennon.

Celtic signed the player on-loan for two years and the Socceroo is desperate to get his Celtic career properly started. Arzani faces stiff competition for those attacking midfield places.

It will be up to Daniel to show exactly why he was the youngest participant at last years World Cup.
