Medical Booked: Chris Sutton Reacts to Latest Parkhead Exit

CHRIS SUTTON reacted on social media this afternoon to the news that Mikael Lustig was on the brink of a move to Belgium side Genk after failing to come to terms over a new deal with Celtic.

Lustig, 32, has spent the past eight years at the club winning 16 trophies which include, two doubles and three trebles.

The Swede has been a charismatic and successful Celtic star for nearly a decade and as the curtain closes on his Parkhead career Sutton was quick to acknowledge Lustig’s contributions.

Sutton has criticised Lustig in the past couple of seasons and so have many who have seen the defender’s influence declining. However, it felt like a lot of times he was getting the raw end of the deal and became an easy target for many if the players weren’t performing.

The surprising thing about the move is Mikael’s willingness to stay away from Sweden and continue his Euro adventure elsewhere if he does sign on the dotted line for Genk.

We wish the super Swede all the best!
