SKY SPORTS journalist Keith Downie has poured cold water over the latest odds on who will be the next Celtic boss.
Odds overnight seen Rafa Benitez become the favourite for the Celtic job but after being asked about the Spaniard’s situation by a number of Celtic fans, the journo has bad news for the bhoys.
A number of Celtic-supporting friends asking about Rafa Benítez ‘link’ to their manager vacancy. Rafa meeting Newcastle bosses this week hoping to agree a new contract, plus his current wages make Celtic a non-starter.

Rafa did confirm the talks with Mike Ashley at the weekend but everyone is very much aware Benitez has still to sign a new deal.
Celtic know themselves that bringing a high calibre manager in on big wages will mean they would also have to offer a big budget and that’s something the club wouldn’t even do for Brendan Rodgers.
Odds being shortened could be due to punters putting a lot of money down on Rafa for the Parkhead job.
No decision is likely to come before the end of the season. Interim boss Neil Lennon will take charge of the club for the Scottish Cup Final on May 25th where he will hope to land the treble and give himself the best chance of getting the job full time.
