‘No Chance’ – Ex-Ibrox Frontman Rubbishes Celtic Star

Ex-Ibrox and Killie player Kevin Kyle has rubbished suggestions Dedryck Boyata is good enough to cut it in the English Premier League.

Boyata will leave the club this summer after making it clear he wants to move on after his current contract expires.

This has some in the media putting two and two together and suggests Brendan Rodgers will be knocking at the door for his former Celtic defender. It remains to be seen if Boyata was in the best terms with the Leicester manager before his departure so it may not be his obvious destination.

Nonetheless, it was Fulham who tried and failed in the summer to take Boyata from Celtic with a large offer which the club declined. Now the Belgian World Cup star is about to move on, the former striker thinks there’s ‘no chance’ Boyata will make the grade.

Talking on Open Goal, he said: “He’d be a brave man to come back and take Boyata!

“Could he play in the Premier League? No chance.”

I’m sure Boyata won’t lose any sleep over Kyle’s opinion and there will be some Celtic fans out there who even agree with him.

Looking at some of the defenders in the EPL at the moment, it’s ridiculous to write the defender off.
