The Evening Times has given fans more details on the way Brendan Rodgers departure was handled and it makes for grim reading.
They write that Brendan Rodgers and his staff took Celtic training on Monday with a skeleton squad due to the exerts of some of the players on Wednesday night. He apparently told his team first about what he wanted to happen.
The news was then broken after training to the players who were there and the general consensus among the players was that it was a joke according to the ET.
The more details the players were told the sinking feeling that the Celtic fans experienced on Tuesday slowly set in.
It’s believed the players were as caught out by this as the fans and even the Celtic board who were not on the best of terms with Rodgers but didn’t expect the swift exit which he manufactured for himself and his team.
