LEWIS MORGAN came on as a substitute in the second half of Sunderland’s 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers and got the plaudits for his directness and willingness to hit the byline.
The Celtic winger hasn’t started in the past two games and spent the whole game midweek on the bench. Getting on today he certainly made his case for a starting place going forward and would have been credited with an assist had Sunderland been more clinical.
Aiden McGeady was the hero again as he sealed the victory with a great free kick in the second half.
Some Sunderland fans took to social media to praise the young Scottish midfielder.

Should have been 3.
Absolutely wonderful run from Lewis Morgan, who carries it all the way to the byline and beats two defenders in the process.
Wyke volleyed over.
Huge ovation from away support as Ross makes third sub.

Morgan is hoping to get as much game time as possible between now and the end of the season before heading back to Celtic Park in the summer.
Sunderland now find themselves in third place and chasing promotion to the Championship, after impressing today Morgan may start against Plymouth next week.
