CELTIC have announced tonight that Scott Brown has extended his stay by another two years with the captain rejecting the move to Australia.
There has been much made of Brown’s future since Western Melbourne stated their intention to try and lure the midfielder to Australia for next season.
However, the Celtic captain has chosen to stay put and help Celtic towards their ultimate goal of ten in a row.
Many have said Brown’s best days are behind him, but the player can still offer the club a lot both on and off the pitch. His influence on the team in the dressing room is big and if he did go it would have been a blow.
Celtic are looking to press on and bring in a defender before midnight tonight when the transfer window closes.
Brown is a double treble winning captain and will have legendary status at the club when he hangs up his boots.
