LEIPZIG STAR Timo Werner has declared he’s ‘sure’ Salzburg will win against Celtic in Glasgow in two weeks and do them a favour.
Celtic took control of their own destiny with a win over Rosenborg on Thursday night in Norway, meaning the bhoys only need a draw to progress to the next round.
For Leipzig, they must hope for a Celtic defeat and a win against Rosenborg which would see the Germans slide through on head to head rules.
Salzburg are obviously a class act and have won all their games to this point but to say he’s sure of a Salzburg win is a pretty arrogant statement and one we hope the Celtic players are aware of.
Speaking about the situation Werner told the German media “We all hope Salzburg will win in Glasgow against Celtic and we are sure they will.
“They are a very good side and they will want to go through with a 100 per cent record.
“All we can do is beat Rosenborg and complete our side of things. But it’s true we have to hope that Salzburg do us a favour.”
Before Celtic can even think about the Salzburg game they have the small matter of a League Cup Final and back to league action.
The bhoys and the Celtic fans will be up for it come game time in two weeks.
