New Twist – Celtic Won’t Stand for Semi-Final Stitch Up

As we reported on last night, Celtic are refusing to be the club pre-selected to head to Murrayfield for their semi-final, should the SPFL manage to secure the venue.

Celtic have formally written to the SPFL outlining the reasons why this decision should not be a foregone conclusion and the only fair way to make the decision is by random draw.

It is rather bizarre that Celtic vs Hearts would be the one pre-selected in the first place. The thinking behind it as bad as the double booked venue plan the SPFL came up with in the first place.

The SPFL have become even more of a joke as they try to sort out a mess of their own doing.

Their inept attempt to lead and show authority has been abysmal.

The rushed decision to play two semi-finals on the same day at the same venue was never viable, and the fact they punted this idea for as long as they did shows how deluded they are.

There’s no reason now why the SPFL can’t accept Celtic’s request and have a fair draw to see who plays in Edinburgh.

The sub-story here, is after being messed around by the SFA are the Murrayfield bosses feeling charitable?

They know they have the SPFL by the proverbials and could ask for a higher price to host the event leaving another SPFL plan in tatters.

What a mess.
