Do The Right Thing Celtic – Fan Urges Club to Show Goodwill Over Dembele Merchandise

A Celtic fan has called on the club to replace jerseys which have had Dembele printed on them in the last month after the player left under a cloud on deadline day.

The fan in question uses Motherwell as an example of how the club should show goodwill to the fans after the North Lanarkshire club replaced tops with Cedric Kipre on them this summer.

The player was popular for the Steelmen but the club could not turn down over £1million for Wigan and sold him for a massive profit. After the club sold Kipre they sent out a message to all fans who had got his name and number printed on the back of their ‘Well shirt – a goodwill gesture on the club’s part.

Now Dembele has left the building under somewhat acrimonious terms, a Celtic fan has asked the club to show goodwill towards the support who only recently bought the new strips with the former striker’s name on the back.

While it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things – we believe the club should invite fans who have purchased any of the new jerseys this term and put Dembele on the back to go to their nearest superstore for a trade-in.

Some have pointed out we have another Dembele on the books, maybe big Pete will dodge this by promoting the youngster to the first team as the new number 10.

Joking aside – it’s the little things that matter to the supporters.
