PATRICK ROBERTS looks set to spend the season on loan in Spain after we reported earlier today a deal between the midfielder and Girona looked close.

The former Celtic midfielder is now set to put pen to paper on a deal which will see him compete against Barcelona and Real Madrid next term in the hope of improving his game further.

Patrick didn’t have the best second spell at the club with injury hampering his game time.

Some fans were still holding out hope Celtic would return a third time for the player but those hopes have been quashed after the latest transfer developments.
