Anthony Stokes has continued his bizarre career path after leaving Scottish foobtall last year by signing for an Iranian side!

The Irishman was booted out of Hibs by Neil Lennon and moved to play football in Greece with Appollon – he then went awol after playing four matches and scoring zero goals only to be sacked again.

He has now chosen to sign for John Toshack at Tractor Sazi in what has to be one of the weirdest transfers in former Celtic player history.

Stokes has great talent but he appears to get in his own way at time – We wonder if Iranian football will sort him out.

The striker has signed a two-year deal.
