Rodgers Reveals Team Talk Before Thrashing Gers

BRENDAN RODGERS has revealed what he said to his players before sending them out in the powderkeg of a Glasgow Derby where they could clinch the league.

The Irishman was calm as ever when he told his players what he expected of them from the off and never let the stakes get the better of them.

“We looked as if it was planned but it certainly wasn’t,” Rodgers told the Celtic View.

“We started the game very aggressively. I said to the players before the game to really focus on three basic principles we look for in the game – attack with real intent and be really aggressive, recover the ball as quickly as you can and try to dominate the middle of the park”

Celtic absolutely blew away their Glasgow rivals in a 5-0 thrashing to secure the league title for the seventh consecutive time.

Reflecting on the achievement of not only winning it but doing so in style in the derby – Rodgers believes it’s something the fans will never forget.

“It’s a game that will live long in the memory of the supporters”

“The mark of the game is that we won 5-0 and people saying afterwards that we should have won be seven or eight”
