IBROX LEGEND, Barry Ferguson admitted he is a little bit ‘saddened’ that the Glasgow derby atmosphere is set to be somewhat diluted with the news Celtic’s allocation will be cut by 90%.
In a move which smacks of pettiness and the inability to handle being horsed by your rivals on a regular basis – the Ibrox club pulled the curtain down on Free Broomloan Road.
Ferguson believes if it raises more funds then it’s for the greater good but part of him will miss the Celtic fans rubbing up The Rangers fans the wrong way.
‘Having thousands of Celtic fans inside the stadium created a brilliant atmosphere and there is a part of me which is saddened that this will no longer be the case but the bigger picture is about Rangers rebuilding and getting stronger.’ Ferguson wrote in his Daily Record Column.
Celtic have reciprocated are now looking into selling more season books this summer with a huge waiting list – there will be no shortage of takers for the next phase of the Rodgers revolution.
An added bonus is Celtic Park will be mostly full come the 90th minute of a Glasgow Derby.
