Celtic CAN Trigger Clause – Rodgers Ponders Striker Deal

BRENDAN RODGERS will not be rushing into any decision about Osdonne Edouard before the summer after the Irishman revealed Celtic are capable of triggering his transfer clause.

Many reports suggested the clause was £7million, which would be a fee to large for a striker who is showing promise but by no means the finished article.

However, Rodgers refuted that figure and believes Celtic are capable of triggering the clause should he instruct the board to do so.

Speaking on the Frenchman’s future, Rodgers was playing it cool: “We have to respect he’s a PSG player, not a Celtic player.

“There is a clause in the deal. The clause is there and there’s been an agreement – but we would need to trigger the fee.

“There’s a lot to do in terms of the bigger picture too. In time we’ll see. He’s a fantastic player and we’ll see between now and the end of the season.

“But he’s settled in well and if we have any chance to do something at the end of the season then we can look at that.”
