CELTIC Goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods has handed Celtic a boost ahead of their treble tilt by declaring Craig Gordon will be back within 2-3 weeks.
The Celtic goalkeeper has been out since the Hibs game at the end of January after suffering a bad knee injury has been rehabbing well to the point he could be in contention for the semi final against The Rangers.
Speaking about the injury, Stevie was positive.
“He should be two to three weeks to be back into the first team and have the possibility to be selected.
“He is back in on the training field doing conditioned goalkeeping just now, not full sessions. He will start that with me when I got back next Wednesday and that should be the start of his final end stage rehab.”
Scott Bain is now deputising in Craig’s absence after the loan keeper got his chance at Ibrox two weeks ago.
Bain kept his place for the Motherwell draw at the weekend and looks likely to continue in the role.
It will be up to the 26-year-old to play to a standard that keeps Gordon out of the team when fully fit.
