YESTERDAY was the 24th anniversary of the day Celtic were saved from being closed down by a band of battle-hardened Celtic fans and Fergus McCann who came in with a plan to save the club.
The Canadian based businessman saved Celtic and built a new 60,000 seater stadium and in doing so gave birth to the modern day Celtic we all know today.
Celtic fans would like to see Fergus immortalised in some way at Celtic Park – some suggesting a statue while others want a stand of the stadium he brought to fruition named after him.

High time the North Stand became the Fergus McCann stand. Least he deserves!
