City Bonus – EPL Bidding War Set to Benefit Celtic

CELTIC have been sitting tight for quite a while now on when they are likely to see the fruits of their transfer policy pay-off again when Virgil van Dijk finally makes his next move.

The transfer saga of the summer that ended in a stalemate is about to kick off again and this time Liverpool have company.

While towards the end of the summer window it was only Liverpool that had any real interest in taking Virgil van Dijk away from Southampton, that most certainly isn’t the case now.

The Anfield side believes they’re still in pole position to take the Dutchman away from St Mary’s, however, it would appear they may have to up their already ridiculous bid after Man City came back into the fold.

Pep Guardiola has spoken about the need to have more reinforcements come January as Man City fight for silverware on a number of fronts. John Stones has been ruled out for the rest of the year which has hastened their need for a new defender and the former Celtic player is at the top of their list.

Celtic hold 10-15% sell on fee and depending on what media outlet you listen to, Liverpool’s bid is standing north of £60million.

If the oil-rich side is ready to hijack the move, it can only benefit Celtic.
