Adam Idah has officially left Celtic, completing a permanent transfer to Swansea City on deadline day.
The Republic of Ireland international had been the subject of speculation throughout the summer, with Swansea pushing hard to secure his signature. The move briefly appeared in doubt earlier in the week due to Celtic’s striker situation and a stalled replacement deal for Kasper Dolberg. However, the Welsh side remained confident and now have their man.

Idah, who joined Celtic on loan from Norwich City in January 2024, made an immediate impact during his initial six-month spell. That earned him a permanent transfer to Parkhead earlier this summer for a reported fee of £9.5 million. However, his form since the start of the new season failed to reach the same heights, and the Hoops have now opted to cash in.
The striker flew to Wales to undergo his medical, briefly returned to Glasgow amid squad concerns, but has now completed the switch after passing the second stage of his medical on Sunday evening.
With Idah’s departure, Celtic will now face further scrutiny over their striker depth, especially after missing out on Dolberg and with the club still chasing a deal for Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana on loan.
Rodgers has made it clear a replacement must arrive, and fans will now be watching closely to see who — if anyone — arrives before the 11pm deadline.
