Celtic target Kasper Dolberg has been dropped to the bench for Anderlecht’s derby clash against Union SG, as speculation around a potential move to Glasgow continues to grow.
Anderlecht are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of £8 million, with Celtic so far falling short in their attempts to strike a deal.
Dolberg’s omission from the starting XI has only added fuel to the fire, as the Belgian side appear braced for further developments.
The forward has scored five goals in eight matches this season and remains a key player for both club and country, but Anderlecht’s position may shift as the window nears its close.
Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his desire to bring in attacking reinforcements, especially with Adam Idah close to joining Swansea. The club are in urgent need of a new centre-forward, and Dolberg has emerged as the top target.

With personal terms not expected to be an issue, it’s now a case of whether Celtic can meet Anderlecht’s valuation in time.
The clock is ticking, and today’s benching may be the clearest sign yet that Dolberg’s future lies away from Brussels.
