Celtic are reportedly in the final stages of a move for Royal Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha, with TCW reporting that a £4.5 million fee has now been agreed between the clubs.
While personal terms are thought to be settled, the transfer has hit a snag due to issues around the player’s medical. Celtic had a medical lined up for earlier this week, but it has yet to take place. Belgian reports suggest ‘internal issues’ at Antwerp are partly behind the delay, although Balikwisha’s recent injury record is also believed to be a factor.

The 24-year-old missed large parts of last season with recurring muscle problems, which have raised some concern as the transfer edges closer. Even so, Brendan Rodgers remains interested in bringing him in, with Balikwisha seen as a player who could add depth and creativity to Celtic’s front line.
Since joining Antwerp from Standard Liège, the versatile forward has made 145 appearances, scoring 30 goals and setting up 17 more. His ability to operate across the attack makes him an attractive option as Celtic look to strengthen ahead of a demanding season across multiple fronts.

Tilio arrived in Glasgow in 2023 but failed to make an impact, managing only two first-team appearances. He spent all of last season back on loan at Melbourne City and has now been given the go-ahead to move on. The move clears space in the squad as Celtic continue to make changes before the window closes.
