Celtic return to Friday night football for the first time in over a decade when they face Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup under the lights at Celtic Park.
Premier Sports have confirmed their line-up for coverage of the tie, with Emma Dodds fronting the broadcast. She’ll be joined in the studio by Dundee boss Tony Docherty, former Scotland midfielder Michael Stewart, ex-Motherwell defender Stephen Craigan, and former Celtic favourite Charlie Mulgrew – who posted the line-up on his Instagram story.
On commentary duty will be Rory Hamilton, who will call the action from the gantry as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to book their place in the next round.
It’s a rare Friday night fixture for Celtic, with their last coming more than ten years ago, and the match offers the chance for Rodgers to potentially rotate his squad ahead of next week’s Champions League play-off clash with Kairat.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm, with live coverage beginning on Premier Sports from 7.15pm.
Celtic met Falkirk in the same round last year, although it was a stage deeper – in the quarter finals.
Brendan Rodgers did rotate his squad that day, especially the backline. Speaking after the match, he took the blame for the performance, which wasn’t up to scratch. He said,
”If there’s any blame on the first hour, it’s on me, I make the changes.
“It’s a challenge for the guys coming in and I thought they gave everything. The players show a real hunger to work hard.”
