James Forrest Teases ‘Exciting’ Celtic Signings

James Forrest has offered an insight into the current mood within the Celtic camp as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.

Speaking at Celtic Park on Thursday, the experienced winger reflected on the club’s recruitment so far and what might still be to come, with seven new signings already added to the squad.

Forrest, now a senior figure in Brendan Rodgers’ dressing room, gave his perspective on how competition for places is shaping up and why depth will be crucial in the months ahead.

With Celtic set to travel to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen this weekend, the 34-year-old outlined how the players are keeping their focus on football while transfer matters are handled elsewhere.

He said: (Celtic FC YouTube), “I think every window I’ve been at Celtic, we’ve always signed players.

“We’ve signed seven already [this summer]. I think the club have done that every season I’ve been here.

“The type of club that we are, the fans and everyone want exciting wingers, strikers and attacking players.

“Right now, we’ve looked good in pre-season, the league started well. We [the players] just let the manager do transfers, and the club. We just work hard.

“There are a couple of weeks left in the window, so we’ll just see what happens.

“Competition for places is really healthy. I’ve always enjoyed different players coming in. You can learn off them.

“It’s good for the coaches, the amount of games we play, to have good depth in the squad.

“The manager has mentioned it a couple of times since we’ve been back. It’s always hard to tell when the window is going on.

“You can only give a really good gauge until the window is shut. It’s hard to judge just now while the window is open.”

Forrest’s comments reflect a settled tone around Lennoxtown, with Celtic already off the mark in the Premiership and more additions still possible in the coming weeks.

The club remain active in the market, with Brendan Rodgers known to be pursuing further reinforcements in key areas, particularly in attack and central defence.

Forrest’s attitude also highlights the mindset within the dressing room, where experience and squad depth are seen as vital assets for a club competing on multiple fronts.

With just over three weeks left before the window shuts, Celtic fans will be keeping a close eye on any late movement, but Forrest’s message was clear: the current group are focused and ready.
