Nicolas Kuhn could come up against Celtic again just weeks after leaving the club for Italian side Como.
The winger made his debut in a 3-1 win over Al-Ahli, helping his new team reach the Como Cup final on Sunday. If Brendan Rodgers’ men beat Ajax tonight, they’ll face Kuhn and Como in the final.

The German forward joined the Serie A newcomers in a £17million deal earlier this summer, only 18 months after arriving in Glasgow. Celtic turned a tidy profit after signing him for £3.5m in January 2024.
Before heading out the door, Kuhn took the time to visit Rodgers in his office to thank him. The two built a strong bond during the player’s spell at the club.
Kuhn played a key role for Celtic in the first half of last season. His performances stood out and helped earn him the move to Italy quicker than expected.
He said: (TCW), “He is an amazing guy. We had some great times and good talks.
“Before I left, I went to see him in his office. I thanked him for everything he did for me. Now it’s a new chapter.”
“Was it a difficult decision to leave? Of course. I loved my time at Celtic. It’s an unbelievable club. It was difficult to leave, of course.
“I wasn’t there that long – it was 18 months. But everything happened quite fast and I enjoyed it.
“I loved my time there and think we had some really special moments. I think it turned out pretty well.
“That was the plan, to stay for probably two years, perform well and help the team and the club.
“I will be forever grateful for what Celtic did for me.”
Now, Celtic could meet the 25-year-old again in very different circumstances, with both sides already moving on to new challenges.

For Rodgers, the Como Cup is another chance to test his squad as they build towards the new season, while Kuhn will want to show why Como paid big money to sign him.
A possible clash in Sunday’s final would bring an extra layer to the tournament, as Kuhn aims to impress in his new colours.
