Luis Palma has sealed a season-long loan move to Polish champions Lech Poznan, with the deal including an option for a permanent transfer from Celtic.

Palma arrived in Glasgow with high expectations but struggled to secure a consistent starting place under Brendan Rodgers in the second half of last season.
Celtic confirmed the move earlier today, announcing that the Honduran international had joined the Poznan side on loan for the upcoming campaign. The deal offers the Polish outfit the opportunity to make the transfer permanent should Palma impress in his new surroundings.

While he showed flashes of potential early in his Celtic career, particularly with his goalscoring ability and direct running, he found game time increasingly limited as the season wore on. Brendan Rodgers opted for other attacking options more regularly in the latter stages of the campaign, leaving Palma with few opportunities to stake a claim.
Lech Poznan finished top of the Polish top flight last season and will be targeting another strong domestic campaign as well as progress in Europe.

It remains to be seen whether Palma will return to Celtic at the end of the season or whether this loan marks the beginning of a permanent exit from the Hoops.
Either way, the coming months in Poland will be crucial for the winger’s future, with regular minutes and consistent performances needed to turn things around.
