The 23-year-old is set to become Brendan Rodgers’ latest addition as the Hoops boss looks to strengthen his backline before the new campaign.

With Cameron Carter-Vickers still a doubt for the season opener and Gustaf Lagerbielke on the verge of a switch to Braga, Rodgers is eager to add depth in central defence.
Inamura has featured regularly in the J-League this season and is known for his versatility, comfortable both in the centre of defence and at left-back.

His impending arrival will add to a defensive group that includes Liam Scales, returning loanee Kieran Tierney, and Auston Trusty.
The defender made his final appearance for Niigata at the weekend and publicly confirmed his departure, expressing his thanks to the club and fans before leaving.

Once the medical is completed and personal terms are agreed, Inamura is expected to be officially announced later this week as Rodgers’ recruitment drive continues ahead of the Champions League qualifiers and domestic kick-off.
