Greg Taylor’s PAOK Contract Detailed

Greg Taylor is set to complete a move to PAOK, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that Taylor will sign a three-year contract with the Greek club.

The left-back’s switch comes two weeks after CeltsAreHere first revealed Taylor was lining up a move abroad, and the final details are now in motion.

After talks opened with PAOK earlier this month, the 27-year-old took time to reflect with his family before settling on the decision to leave Celtic. A separate potential move elsewhere had stalled, leaving the door open for the Greek side to close in.

Taylor is expected to undergo a medical in Greece in the coming days, with the move likely to be finalised shortly after. The timing of the deal had appeared uncertain for a spell, with both Taylor and Celtic leaving the door open to an extended stay.

Brendan Rodgers had hoped the experienced full-back might remain in Glasgow, even in a rotational role following Kieran Tierney’s return to the club.

That hope has now faded, with Romano’s report confirming the length of contract and effectively sealing Taylor’s departure. Rodgers valued Taylor for his consistency and tactical discipline, using him in a variety of defensive setups during his time at the club.

Taylor leaves Celtic after six years, having made over 200 appearances and collected a full haul of domestic honours.

His move to PAOK marks the first time he will play club football outside Scotland, and he joins a side competing regularly at the top end of the Greek Super League and in Europe.

He will link up with former Hoops teammate Jonjoe Kenny, who recently made the same switch to the Thessaloniki-based outfit.
