Rod Stewart Makes Celtic Glastonbury Request

Rod Stewart has issued a rallying call to Celtic supporters heading to Glastonbury later this month — bring the Hoops with you.

The singer, a lifelong Celtic fan, is set to headline the tea-time Legends slot at the iconic music festival. And he’s hoping the crowd will be in green and white as he belts out his classic hits.

Speaking ahead of his appearance, Rod made it clear he doesn’t want to see retro leopard print this time round.

He said: (Scottish Sun), “No I think you will probably see more Celtic shirts than anything else (in the crowd).

“I would love to see some Celtic flags.”

Rod’s affection for Celtic is well known, having followed the Hoops through thick and thin over the decades. His public appearances often include nods to the club, whether it’s wearing the kit on stage or name-checking Celtic during concerts around the world.

This isn’t the first time he’s encouraged fans to show their colours either — his gigs frequently feature supporters waving scarves and flags in tribute to the singer’s football allegiance.

With one of the summer’s biggest festival crowds set to descend on Worthy Farm, Rod’s aiming to transform the scene into a mini Celtic Park for the night.

And given the strength of the club’s support across the UK and beyond, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see green dominate the fields of Somerset when the curtain rises.

Celtic shirts, scarves, and flags — pack them all. Sir Rod’s got the mic, and he wants a sea of green and white looking back at him.
