The Celtic Players on International Duty This Summer

Celtic will have eight players representing their countries during the international fixtures in June. They’ll take part in friendlies and World Cup qualifiers across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Here’s a look at where each player is going and who they’ll be playing against.

Adam Idah and Liam Scales – Republic of Ireland

Adam Idah and Liam Scales will both be in action for the Republic of Ireland. They have two friendly matches. The first is at home against Senegal on Friday, June 6, at the Aviva Stadium. The second is away to Luxembourg on Tuesday, June 10. Both games kick off at 7:45pm. Idah and Scales will be hoping to play big roles in both matches.

Kasper Schmeichel – Denmark

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will also play in two friendlies. Denmark host Northern Ireland on Saturday, June 7, at Parken Stadium, with a 6pm kick-off. Then on Tuesday, June 10, they take on Lithuania at Odense Stadium, also at 6pm. Schmeichel is expected to start in goal for both games.

Anthony Ralston – Scotland

Anthony Ralston has been picked for Scotland. His first match is against Iceland at Hampden Park on Friday, June 6, with kick-off at 7:45pm. Scotland then travel to face Liechtenstein on Monday, June 9. That match will begin at 5pm. Ralston will be looking to add to his international caps.

Yang Hyun-jun – South Korea

Winger Yang Hyun-jun will play in two big World Cup qualifiers for South Korea. The first is against Iraq in Basra on Thursday, June 5, at 7:15pm. The second is at home in Seoul against Kuwait on Tuesday, June 10, kicking off at 12pm. These are important matches in their group, and Yang will aim to make a difference.

Viljami Sinisalo – Finland

Young goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo is part of the Finland squad for World Cup qualifiers. Finland play the Netherlands on Saturday, June 7, and Poland on Tuesday, June 10. Both games are in Helsinki and start at 7:45pm. It’s a big opportunity for Sinisalo if he gets a chance to start.

Luis Palma – Honduras

Luis Palma has been called up by Honduras. They’re starting their World Cup qualifying campaign in Group A. Their first game is away to the Cayman Islands on Saturday, June 7, at 8pm. Then they return home to play Antigua & Barbuda on Wednesday, June 11. That one kicks off very early in the morning at 3am. Palma is likely to start in both matches.

Paulo Bernardo – Portugal U21

Midfielder Paulo Bernardo will play for Portugal’s under-21 team at the European Championship. Portugal face France on Wednesday, June 11, Poland on Saturday, June 14, and Georgia on Tuesday, June 17. All three matches will be played at Štadión na Sihoti. Kick-off times are 8pm for the first two and 5pm for the final group match.

These call-ups show how strong and international Celtic’s squad is. From experienced players like Schmeichel to younger talents like Sinisalo and Bernardo, the club will be well represented. Fans will be watching closely to see how each player performs for their countries.
