Neil Lennon is officially back in Scottish football again, and wants Dunfermline to be pushing near the top of the Championship. He signed a two-year contract this week and is ready to take on a new challenge. The former Celtic boss has made it clear he is aiming high and wants to bring success to East End Park.
Lennon had been in talks with the club. He agreed terms before the end of last season and said the club’s owner stuck to his word. Lennon said the trust between him and the board made it an easy decision. He feels good about joining Dunfermline and is excited to get started.

He will be working closely with Iain Brunskill, his assistant. The two have already spent some time at the club and are ready to get to work. Lennon says there is a lot to do, but he is ready for the task. He wants to build something strong and long-lasting at the club.
Last season, Dunfermline finished in the lower half of the table. Lennon wants to change that. With new leadership, the club is hoping to move in the right direction. Lennon’s experience and winning background have raised hopes among the fans.
He said: (Dunfermline FC), “I more or less agreed things with the owner towards the end of the season. There were contract negotiations, but he was true to his word and I’ve been true to mine. We’ve built a good relationship, which is really important.
“The people around the club matter too—David (Cook) plays a key role in that. There’s a lot of work to be done, and that’s a real challenge I’m looking forward to. I’m excited and feel very welcome here. Now it’s about making a positive impact.
“Iain (Brunskill) and I really enjoyed our time here so far. We want to improve all aspects of the club and build something. It’s a project for me—something I don’t say often in football—but it fits here. There’s plenty of work ahead.
“Ultimately, it’s about putting a strong product on the pitch. I don’t like making predictions, but I want us challenging near the top. With two Premier League teams dropping down and strong sides like Ayr, Partick, Raith, and Morton in the mix, it’s a tough league. We need players who give us the edge and more consistency in our performances.”
Lennon’s name will bring attention to the club and might help attract better players. He has a lot of contacts and knows what it takes to win. Dunfermline will hope that his arrival can help them sign the right players this summer.
The squad will need to improve to match Lennon’s ambitions. He is known for expecting a lot from his players. Training will be intense and he will want to set high standards from the start.

Lennon had been out of Scottish football for a while until returning in March, but this job gives him a fresh start. He knows what success looks like, and now he wants to prove himself again with a different kind of challenge.
If things go to plan, Dunfermline could surprise people this season. With Lennon in charge and big changes coming, fans will be watching closely to see how quickly the team improves.
