The countdown is on. With just 17 days until the summer transfer window opens on June 12th, Celtic are preparing for a crucial spell of business that could shape Brendan Rodgers’ second spell in charge.

The window runs until August 29th, giving the club ample time to strengthen, but there’s no doubt early movement will be key. [Transfermarkt]
Rodgers has already made clear that the current squad needs“freshened up, signalling a rebuild of sorts after a double-winning campaign that ended on a flat note with Scottish Cup final defeat to Aberdeen.
One confirmed arrival is already on the cards. Kieran Tierney will return to Celtic in July after signing a pre-contract agreement. The 27-year-old Scotland international brings top-level experience from Arsenal and a loan spell in Spain, and his return gives the squad an immediate boost.
Ross Doohan also looks like he’s making his Celtic return.
Tierney’s homecoming, while significant, is expected to be just the start. Celtic know reinforcements are needed across multiple areas, with depth and quality both under review. The club faces questions in key positions: left-back, centre half, centre-forward, wingers and midfield all look likely to be addressed.
There’s also the matter of potential departures. Greg Taylor’s future remains unclear with no new deal agreed, and Rodgers will be looking to clear the deadwood.
With Champions League qualifiers on the horizon and Rangers expected to invest heavily after falling short in the title race, Celtic can’t afford to stand still.
A busy summer lies ahead and with it, an opportunity to reshape and re-energise a squad aiming to stay on top.
