Celtic could be in line for a significant financial boost this summer as former stars Matt O’Riley and Jeremie Frimpong attract interest from across Europe.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed today that O’Riley, who left Parkhead last summer for Brighton in a deal worth an initial £25 million, is being monitored by clubs in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A. While the Danish international hasn’t had the smoothest transition to the English top flight, his potential and previous form continue to draw admirers
Celtic stand to benefit again should the Seagulls choose to move O’Riley on, with a sell-on clause built into the deal. That clause, depending on the terms agreed, could net the Scottish champions a tidy sum should Brighton cash in.
This news comes after Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong is closing in on a high-profile switch to Liverpool. With a reported fee in the region of £40 million, Celtic are expected to pocket around £5 million from their own sell-on clause negotiated when the Dutchman left Glasgow for the Bundesliga in 2021.
The combined windfall from the potential sales of both players could comfortably surpass £10 million – a considerable sum that could be reinvested into the squad as Brendan Rodgers looks to refresh his side ahead of another European campaign.
