James Forrest will be given a special role in Celtic’s title day celebrations this Saturday, as the 33-year-old winger prepares to walk out with the Scottish Premiership trophy at Celtic Park.

The gesture comes just weeks after Forrest made history by becoming the club’s most decorated player, overtaking Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox with his 26th major honour following the league-clinching win at Tannadice. It’s a fitting tribute for a player who has been part of every major success over the last 15 years.
SunSport reports that Forrest has been chosen to lead the Hoops out with the trophy following the full-time whistle against St Mirren, in front of a packed Celtic Park crowd. The title will officially be presented after the match, as usual.
Forrest rolled back the years in Wednesday night’s 5-1 win over Aberdeen, continuing a strong finish to the campaign as he looks to end the season on a personal high. He’s still chasing his first goal of the season, which would mark 16 consecutive campaigns on the scoresheet for Celtic – a remarkable feat in the modern game but he has just two games left to get on the scoresheet.
It would be extremely fitting if the player could grab a goal on trophy day.
