Owen Coyle has publicly urged Celtic to secure Greg Taylor’s future at the club, as the left-back approaches the end of his current contract with just two games remaining in the season.
Taylor, who joined Celtic from Kilmarnock in 2019, has been a key player under multiple managers. Despite his consistency and work rate, the club has yet to reach an agreement on a new deal, meaning the defender could walk away for nothing this summer.

He said: (Open Goal), “He is out-of-contract, obviously, but he has been an unbelievable player since coming in.
“When you come from Kilmarnock and that. People are like, ‘ummm, it’s not a big’. They want big and fancy signings, and everything else, but he has shown to be a really, really good player.”
Taylor has made the left back position his own over the past few seasons, offering consistency on the left side of defence and contributing to both the defence and attack.

With the league title already secured, Celtic can focus on the Scottish Cup Final as they chase a domestic treble. Off the pitch, contract matters like Taylor’s remain unresolved. While the Hoops prepare for the final two games of the season, resolving the left-back’s future would provide a welcome boost ahead of the summer transfer window.
Whether Celtic can convince Taylor to extend his stay remains to be seen. But with voices like Coyle’s adding weight to the argument, the case for keeping the Scotland international is only growing louder.
