The clash will bring together the League Cup winners of Scotland and England, with both clubs continuing their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.
Toon manager, Eddie Howe, was set to take over from Neil Lennon back in the summer of 2021, but pulled out after weeks of negotiations, with the club then turning to Ange Postecoglou.
Newcastle made history earlier this year by ending a 70-year wait for domestic silverware, beating Liverpool 2-1 in a dramatic Carabao Cup final at Wembley. The Magpies are currently sitting in fourth place, with the top 5 in the EPL set to play Champions League football next season.
Celtic, meanwhile, lifted the Viaplay Cup in December after defeating Rangers in the final—securing the club’s 22nd League Cup title and adding more silverware to Brendan Rodgers’ ever-growing collection. With the Hoops also recently wrapping up the Premiership title and eyeing a domestic Treble.

Celtic fans would liked to have seen the tie being played at Newcastle, but it’s not to be this time.
There will be more fixture details released in the coming weeks, but there doesn’t seem to be any trips to America or Japan, places Celtic have visited in the last two summers, in the pipeline.
